I discovered your website and product when I visited to vote for my friends Caique in your “There's Beak on My Beak” contest. It sounded good and giving my birds a wholesome warm meal was something I've wanted to do, so I tried a sample pack.
Day one, my own Caique could have been a “There's Beak on My Beak” contestant! Day 2, my Nanday not only ate all of her Cream of Tweet, she also ate the area on the paper plate it was served to her on. By day 3, even the fussy budgies, finches and Bourkes keet were cleaning their plates.
So the final count is in for my own “There's Beak on My Beak” contest and it is overwhelming approval of your product! Beak Appetit is a great idea and an outstanding bird food. We hope to be entering your future contests.
Thank you.

Gourmet Pet Supply - Company News
To: All Customers, Partners and Friends of Beak Appetit, Inc.
I am pleased to inform you of several exciting changes that are happening at Beak Appetit - Natural Bird Food, not the least of which is the fact we have changed our name to Gourmet Pet Supply, Inc., following the successful addition of small animal pet foods to our product line up. Gourmet Pet Supply, Inc will now offer two separate product lines under two distinct brands – the Beak Appetit line of avian products plus our new Critter Cuisine line of small animal foods.
I'm sure you'll agree that this makes much more sense than trying to market small animal foods under the Beak Appetit name. We won't be changing our location or contact information. The same great team that made the Beak Appetit brand bird food the symbol of highest quality bird foods is still here (although we've added a few more people), and our continuing dedication to provide only the highest quality health foods for pets remains as strong as ever. We still use only all natural, human quality ingredients in our pet foods.
Our new name isn't the only thing going on here that you will be interested in. We are launching a consumer advertising campaign in "Bird Talk" magazine beginning this April to expand awareness and build demand for the Beak Appetit Natural Bird Foodproduct lines. This is the beginning of an aggressive long term consumer awareness effort designed to build demand at the grass roots level across the country. We have been hearing from you that you and your customers love our product but “no one else knows about it”. Well, we heard you and are now in the process of addressing it once & for all.
We are currently in the process of updating all of our Beak Appetit Bird Food package designs with brighter graphics and more contemporary colors to enhance their retail shelf (and kitchen) appeal. This redesign also allows us the opportunity to provide more meaningful consumer information on the package – including more bird-specific applicability. You will begin seeing this new look appearing across our product line over the coming few months.
We have also strengthened the natural nutrition content of Calypso Spice and Nuts for Alfredo making them consistent with the highest standards set by our other avian products. This had the additional benefit of enhancing the product colors and aromas making them even more appealing to both consumers and their birds. You can rest assured that our Beak Appetit cooked foods are the healthiest, most appetizing, freshest tasting, best smelling and most consumer-appealing bird food on the market today. And we plan to keep it that way.
Two new Beak Appetit cooked food products will be introduced exclusively for small birds this April. These smaller “cook and store” Beak Buckets have been especially formulated for finches, parakeets and other small birds and should be a profitable addition to your product mix this spring. Product testing has demonstrated these foods to be very appealing to these birds and we are very excited about them.
We have also improved both our Critter Cuisine Garden Medley and Beak Appetit Veggie Heaven products by incorporating individually sealed content bags within each cup to maximize freshness. We are also updating our new Critter Cuisine brand package designs (Garden Medley and Meadow Café), to provide brighter graphics and more focused consumer information.
Finally, we have several interesting new products under development that we are very excited about and suspect you will be as well. I can't tell you any more right now, but please stay tuned and stay in touch.
Best Regards,
David W. Roddy

Petco Brings Help to Katrina Victims Wednesday, August 31st, 2005
Help is on the way. Dozens of local humanitarian, medical and emergency services personnel headed for the Gulf Coast on Tuesday to assist communities affected by Hurricane Katrina.
Fourteen members of the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, including three urban search-and-rescue workers and 11 lifeguards, left early Tuesday morning for March Air Force Base in Riverside County, where they will depart today for Lafayette, La. It is unknown how long they will stay in the disaster areas.
Also Tuesday, a 30-member disaster medical assistance group, sponsored by the San Diego-based International Relief Teams and UCSD Medical Center, arrived in Baton Rouge, La., where they will dispense antibiotics, vaccines and other medications to prevent disease outbreaks. The IRT also will send construction workers to help poor and fixed-income homeowners rebuild their homes.
Pet relief. San Diego-based Petco will be raising money now through Sept. 11 for the animal victims of Hurricane Katrina.
The pet-supply company is asking shoppers to donate to its own charitable foundation at the register by rounding up their purchases to the highest dollar, it was announced Tuesday. Donations also can be made online at www.petco.com.
The funds raised will go towards animal welfare-related disaster relief needs in the Gulf Coast region. Petco officials said that the company will coordinate its relief efforts with those of the American Humane Association, the Humane Society of the United States and local animal shelters.
Adams wants 'no-kill' status for cats, dogs
-Friday, Septemeber 2, 2005
CHICAGO - Stray and unwanted cats and dogs would find Rolling Meadows a safe haven if the Rolling Meadows City Council agrees to make the city a "no-kill community.
Alderman Glenn Adams, 5th Ward, is pushing city officials to work with Almost Home Foundation -- a no-kill shelter for dogs -- and begin paying People and Animals in Community Together Humane Society for its work with cats.
The latter no-kill group, known as PACT, already helps the city government find homes for stray cats, but it doesn't receive any money for its efforts. Adams would like the city to pay PACT $25 for each rescued cat.
Adams would like the city to work with Almost Home because he believes the foundation would do a good job placing dogs in new homes without the possibility of dogs being killed.
